Narcotics Anonymous Meetings
Narcotics Anonymous (NA) Meetings are 12-Step meetings where those suffering with any form of drug addiction, can come and share their day-to-day experiences. These meetings offer support through the honest, non-judgemental sharing that members engage in during meeting time.
These meetings are not only for those who are starting out on their road to recovery, but there are usually also ‘old timers’ who attend, offering hope for a future in recovery.
These meetings are free to attend for men and women of any age, race or religion.
Some NA meetings are considered ‘closed’, which means you have to have difficulty with drug addiction to attend. Other meetings are ‘open’ which means you can attend, regardless of the type of addiction you have.
What happens at NA Meetings?
The meetings usually follow the same format, no matter where you are attending, starting with a preamble and then moving on to open sharing time. The aim is not to give or take advice during the meeting, but rather to listen and offer tacit support through being there and connecting with other members.
